“Quietly funny. Deeply human. Unforgettable.”
Driving Miss Daisy is a deeply moving Pulitzer Prize-winning play about an unexpected friendship that changes two lives over the course of 25 years. Set in Georgia beginning in 1948, the story follows Daisy Werthan, a fiercely independent Jewish widow, and Hoke Coleburn, the Black chauffeur hired by her son, Boolie, after Daisy can no longer drive herself. What begins with resistance and sharp humor slowly grows into a relationship built on trust, respect, and genuine affection as the world around them changes in profound ways.
