You come in to simply pick up a loaf of bread – but what’s going on behind the scenes in your local grocery store is a juicy story all its own.

The micro-culture of the grocery store world, set right here in northeast Tennessee.

Note from the playwright: The concept for this play came after several months of jotting down weird, funny, and strange things that I overheard random shoppers saying in grocery stores. Sometimes it was people shopping together; sometimes it was someone talking on the phone while they shop. “Do you want me to get single or double pack of Pepto Bismo?” When you get just a tiny bite of what’s going on in other people’s worlds – a few words, a random comment, a question – it can conjure up all sorts of creative ideas!
